This site has been a long time coming since buying Sidekicks Gym, now Team Eastside, in 2004. I had the great idea in my head that owning my own business would give me the time to paint during the day and work at night. Well owning your own business is a 24 hour job, so I decided to get a part time job at Daniel Smith during the day thus forcing me to make time to paint.
Well it kind of worked, Daniel Smith has been good to me, they gave me the opportunity to study the fundamentals of art from paints to papers. I’ve been in hog heaven reading and learning how paints are made and everything in between. I was lucky enough to start up a “Watercolor 101“ class at the store and have been teaching twice a month since Spring 2008, and demonstrating during the weekends at the Bellevue and Seattle Stores. From those experiences I was able to get a teaching position at the Kirkland Arts Center in “Beginning Watercolor“ and invited to teach “Drawing in Multi-Media” starting in Winter Quarter ’09.
Your probably asking when do I have time to paint? I try to draw, paint, or sketch everyday. I get a hand full of commissions a year and I love painting those, either in watercolor, oil or pastel.
Enjoy my site and send me an email to let me know what you think.
